The Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology (CNR-IBBA) belongs to the Department of Biology, Agriculture and Food Sciences (DiSBA) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR).
Active in the fields of genomics, genetics, biochemistry and physiology of organisms of agricultural interest, the IBBA is a research organization whose activities are located in the area of plant and animal biology, agriculture and nutrition.
Find out moreThe Institute carries out research, technology transfer and training activities in the area of plant, animal and microbial biology in order to: expand knowledge of biological systems at the molecular, cellular and organism levels, and characterize their interaction with the surrounding environment; apply this knowledge for the genetic improvement of plants, animals and microorganisms, and for biomolecule production; develop new tools for the nutritional and functional characterization of agricultural products, the identification of food pathogens, and food authentication; contribute to the conservation of biological resources.
